Sonamarg, or the 'Meadow of Gold', gets its name from the golden light that bathes the snowy peaks of the Himalayan range during sunset. Located on the ancient Silk Road, it serves as the gateway to Ladakh and is arguably the most ruggedly beautiful destination in all of Kashmir.

1. The Thajiwas Glacier

The star attraction of Sonamarg is the Thajiwas Glacier. Accessible by a short hike or a pony ride, this glacier remains covered in snow throughout the year. Surrounded by waterfalls and alpine meadows, it is a paradise for photographers and nature lovers who want to touch real snow even in the height of summer.

🏔️ Beyond the Meadow: Zojila Pass

Just a few kilometers from Sonamarg lies the formidable Zojila Pass, one of the most dangerous and thrilling mountain passes in the world. It connects the lush green valley of Kashmir to the cold desert of Ladakh, marking a dramatic shift in geography and culture.
